Our Approach
To us, it is not only that the boys be good workers. Being skilled at work, but without the necessary character, may mean nothing. Montfort Boys Town takes on a two-prong approach in the development of the boys under its care; namely that of CHARACTER FORMATION and INDUSTRIAL SKILLS TRAINING.
Character Formation
As part of the programme in character formation, the boys undergo a disciplined daily schedule of work, study and play. Emphasis is given to leadership training as well. Guidance and counselling are provided for the individual, as well as for groups of boys. Every boy also goes through a weekly guidance period.
Industrial Skills Training
The boys are also provided with training in industrial skills. The courses offered are: Printing, Motor Mechanics, Welding, Machining, Hospitality, Computer Maintenance , Bakery & Pastry , Electrical and Graphic Design & Multimedia. These courses are based on the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) level one and level two.
The boys are also given industrial experience by in-house customer jobs. General studies is also part of the curriculum.
